When he opened and operated a successful produce stand near his parent's home at the tender age of twelve it was a glimpse of things to come. Salesmanship was in his blood, and there was no turning back.
And today, he's still selling. Instead of produce, now he's selling air. In the intervening years between the produce stand and joining Power Country in 1994, he gained valuable experience in automobile, manufactured home and restaurant equipment sales.
Craig got his first taste of working in radio in 1993 when he was instrumental in returning Christian radio station WOLR 91.3FM to the air along side Gordon and Earlene Lund and Pastor Frank Davis.
A master at sales and promotions, Craig strives to develop individualized advertising packages for each of his clients. If his client has a particular product or service they wish to emphasize, Craig is able to formulate an advertising campaign to promote those services. Many times, he is able to maximize the client's advertising dollar by partnering the business' campaign with regional events, such as the Suwannee River Jam, the Olustee Festival and the annual Gateway Pro Rodeo.
An activity that Craig thoroughly enjoys is cooking. Craig has been referred to as the Power Country Chef, a moniker that he wears proudly. He loves to cook, whether it be for two or two hundred.
Over his fifteen years at Power Country, he's been known by several nicknames: CatFish, Blackbart, and Chef Craig. He has held positions as Account Executive, Sr. Account Executive, Sales Manager, and Webmaster.
Craig's parents hail from Lafayette and Dixie counties. After World War II, they relocated to Miami where Craig was born and raised. In his early twenties, Craig moved to LakeCity to manage family-owned property in the area and to attend LakeCityCommunity College.
Craig has two girls and one boy, ages 19, 16 and 18 respectively. He has been married to Kim since 2002, and they are both active in various ministries at their church, Christ Central Alachua.
Craig is a rabid Florida Gator fan and enjoys boating, fishing, scalloping, golfing and computer solitare in his spare time.
